Lavrov and Safadi also discussed regional issues, including the Palestinian issue, and efforts to find a political solution to the Syrian crisis. During their meeting, Safadi stressed the need for Israel to stop illegal actions undermining two-state solutions, which both ministers agreed is the only way to achieve a just and comprehensive peace.

Safadi emphasized the importance of stopping provocative measures and respecting the historical and legal situation in Jerusalem and its holy sites to prevent escalation, particularly during Ramadan. Safadi called for serious and effective efforts to be launched to achieve a just peace. This is a regional and international necessity.
