    Iraq Electricity Ministry announces construction of a new power line

    The Iraqi Electricity Ministry announced in a statement that the General Electricity Transmission Company for the Southern Region successfully put into operation the 400 kV double-circuit electric power transmission line (Rumaila Gas – Khor Al Zubair), which is the first transmission line of its kind to be implemented in the southern region, with a length of 70 km and a transmission capacity of 2000 megawatts in Basra Governorate.

    Iraq Electricity Ministry announces construction of a new power lineThe project involves the erecting of 171 towers with special specifications, some of which reach a height of 85 meters. After completing the final connection works and the necessary line checks, the work entered the construction phase. The line will strengthen and link the Rumaila gas power plant with the national grid. In addition, it will help stabilize the electrical system in the southern region in particular and Iraq generally.
